EVERETT L. JOHNSON II
SENIOR PASTOR
Elder Everett Lamar Johnson II was born on April 30, 1987, in Germany, to Everett M. Johnson and Mary L. Anderson. At the age of four, he and his family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where he was educated in Duval County Public Schools and graduated from Samuel W. Wolfson Senior High School in 2005.
At the age of nine, while attending Grace & Hope Deliverance Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Gladys E. Sampson, Elder Johnson accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and service.
Elder Johnson is a bi-vocational leader who has dedicated his life to serving both the church and community through leadership, mentorship, and ministry. Professionally, he currently serves as Director at Step Up For Students, where he is passionate about fostering growth, building meaningful relationships, and leading with compassion. These same values have also shaped his approach to ministry.
Throughout his years of service in the church, Elder Johnson has faithfully served in numerous capacities, including musician, adjutant, Sunday School teacher, Chief Ministry Officer, and Director of Ministries.
On April 10, 2016, he was licensed as a minister under Pastor Ardel Jones of Life at the River International Ministries. He was later ordained as an Elder on July 13, 2018, by Chief Apostle Arthur T. Jones, Sr., of All People International Church and Father's Covenant International Fellowship. During his time at All People International Church, Elder Johnson served as Director of Ministries, sat on the executive leadership team, and played a vital role in helping sustain ministry operations and worship experiences throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
On August 2, 2022, Elder Everett Johnson was elected as the sixth Pastor in succession of Philippi Missionary Baptist Church, where he continues to lead with vision, purpose, and a heart for God’s people.
Elder Johnson is married to the former IvyReana Wyche, and together they have a blended family of seven children: Jhamiah, Elijah, JaNasia, JaLayah, Ethan, JaLani, and Emir.
